Gannan Park is home to a large sportsfield, car park and picnic shelters. It is located in Buna St. Ryde, near the North Ryde Golf Club. Local schools love the park, and it is used in summer for cricket. Baseball is played in winter.
It is highly regarded and has great facilities. The cricket nets are in excellent condition. There is also a large, well-maintained oval. The baseball diamond is also in excellent condition. You can shelter from the elements in many covered areas. The toilets are comfortable, clean, and always stocked. A nice little playground with sun shade above the monkey bars.
The revision of the masterplan for Gannan Parks and McCauley Parks now includes lighting for the sportsfields. This is because future upgrades to these parks can’t be done without them.
The addition of sports field lighting to Gannan Park was made possible by the installation four 22m tall light poles, earthworks and upgrades to the amenities building. This lighting will be used to train and promote social sports.
